Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice plates - set of four
Throughout the novel Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth Bennet tells at least five different men to do better. These set of four dinner plates include quotes from Pride and Prejudice that highlight examples of women speaking their mind.
The plates are wheel thrown and have a 20cm diameter.
A few notes about the design…
I wanted to make this series using some of my favourite and iconic quotes from the book. I think we sometimes forget how funny Jane Austen is! I didn’t want to tell the “love” story, I wanted to highlight moments when women were in charge and saying what they wanted to say…and making sure men knew it.
I wanted the plates to look and feel feminine, contrasting with the biting quotes. But I also wanted them to feel like pages from a book. They have texture. They’re not clean or spotless. They have ink smudges.
